The Memory Hill Exhibition & A Special Conversation With Ayşe Semiha Baban Gökçeli
Inspired by Yaşar Kemal’s Three Anatolian Legends, our 10th grade students brought literature, culture, and creativity together through the “Memory Hill” Exhibition. Developed as part of an interdisciplinary project based on the Understanding by Design (UbD) approach, the exhibition featured three-dimensional artworks through which students reinterpreted the mythological, cultural, and human dimensions of the work from their own unique perspectives. The exhibition became even more meaningful with the visit of Ayşe Semiha Baban Gökçeli. Following the exhibition tour, our students had the opportunity to engage in an inspiring conversation about Yaşar Kemal’s life, literary legacy, Anatolian culture, and the enduring themes reflected in his works. We are especially proud of our 10th grade students, who thoughtfully moderated the discussion and helped create a warm, engaging, and memorable exchange of ideas.
