The Rauf Mutluay Story and Poetry Competition
The Rauf Mutluay Story and Poetry Competition, organized by FMV Işık Schools, was once again held at FMV Işık High School with its traditional excitement and spirit. Named in honor of Rauf Mutluay—an essayist, critic, and literary researcher who educated many successful students in literature during his years at FMV Işık High School—the competition continued this year with the support of Mr. İlkant Sümerman, a 1964 graduate of Işık High School who has played a key role in sustaining this meaningful award. This event, a strong example of loyalty to a promise, brought together a distinguished selection committee consisting of respected literary figures Mine Soysal, Haydar Ergülen, Tolga Gümüşay, and Hakan Bıçakcı, who gathered at Işık High School to help preserve our tradition. As in years past, the committee convened at our school to carefully evaluate the works meticulously crafted by our students in the short story and poetry categories. The competition provided young aspiring writers with an inspiring platform to share their unique voices while once again reviving the rich literary culture deeply rooted in Işık High School’s history.
